Common questions

The count looks wrong

Start with the tracking-quality meter at the top of the workout screen. If it reads Fair or Poor, the app is telling you it can’t see you properly, and it will pause the count rather than guess. Usually one of these fixes it:

  • stand two or three steps back, so your whole body — head to feet — is inside the frame;
  • put more light in front of you, not behind you; a bright window at your back turns you into a silhouette;
  • prop the phone so it doesn’t wobble — a moving camera looks like a moving body;
  • avoid a busy background with other people moving in it.

If the count is wrong while the meter says Good, that’s a bug we want to hear about. Tell us your jump style, roughly how many jumps you did, and what the app showed.

Counting with AirPods or an Apple Watch

Open Settings → Counting source. AirPods count from head movement and need AirPods Pro or AirPods (3rd generation) or later; Apple Watch counts from the wrist using the RopeUp watch app. Both feed the same history as the camera, so switching source never splits your statistics.

Nothing happens when I open a workout

RopeUp needs camera access to count with the camera. If you declined it, iOS won’t ask again: open iOS Settings → RopeUp → Camera and turn it on. Alternatively switch the counting source to AirPods or Apple Watch, which don’t use the camera at all.

Restore a subscription

Open RopeUp → Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the date of purchase.

Cancel a subscription

iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → RopeUp → Cancel. Apple handles billing and refunds (support.apple.com/HT204084). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Delete my data or my account

Your workouts, weight log and settings live on your iPhone: deleting the app removes them. If you used the leaderboard, delete the account itself from Settings → Account → Delete account — that also removes your profile, your weekly totals, your leaderboard row and your referral code.

Add a friend

Progress → Leaderboard → Friends. Share your six-character code, or enter theirs. There is no feed, no public profile page and no messaging — just the weekly totals side by side.

Report a bug or request a feature

Email us. Feature requests genuinely shape the roadmap; several shipped features started as one message.
